60 dengue-infected in a ward; massive ‘search and destroy’ campaign in place

With the dengue outbreak turning to an epidemic in Hetauda, the capital city of State-3, a ‘search and destroy’ campaign has been scaled up to check the life-threatening viral.
A big mass comprising locals, representatives of various social organizations, office-bearers of political parties, State Assembly members, officers of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, elected people-representatives of Hetauda sub-metropolis and city police has been involved in the campaign in Hetauda early this morning.
Supendra Karki, Chief, Public Health Division, Hetauda Sub-metropolis, shared that a huge mobilization is taking place to destroy mosquitoes in the state capital.
He informed that 60 people were found infected from dengue in ward-4 of Hetauda sub-metropolis alone. The number is almost half of the dengue-infected people in Makawanpur district.
A massive public awareness accompanied with ‘search and destroy campaign’ has been emphatically undertaken with abrupt rise in the number of dengue-infected people in Makawanpur.
