Landslide kills three in Baglung, seven injured

Three people were killed as they were hit by a landslide here last night.
The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Pancha Kumari Sripali, spouse of Om Bahadur Sripali; 70-year-old Asari Sripali, mother of Devendra Sripali and her 12-year-old grandchild Praveen Sripali of Lammela of Tamankhola rural municipality-4.
According to the police, the lifeless bodies of Asari and Praveen who had been missing in the landslide were retrieved a while ago while the body of Pancha Kumari was found this morning.
Seven others were injured in the incident and they are being treated at a local health facility. Among them, the condition of Om Bahadur Sripali is said to be critical. Until the filing of this report, police were preparing to send him somewhere else for further treatment. The landslide also killed livestock, causing a significant loss. Further details of the loss are awaited.
The landslip from 150 meters above had inflicted damages on five houses. Rain continues, hampering the relief and rescue efforts. Police, people’s representatives and locals are working together for the relief and rescue efforts.
